Our animations were made to help children learn letter-by-letter reading. They're animations of the word recognition strategy called
continuous stretched blending, a way of saying letters slowly without pausing between letters until each letter has been said and the word can be guessed.
The strategy and animations pair perfectly with Spell With Sounds because spelling with the letter sounds is the reverse of letter-by-letter reading. Once the children have learned to Spell With Sounds, words that haven't ever been read before can be spelled correctly!

Animations can be placed into a sequence, sequences can be saved and loaded, and then the selected animations can be played, with audio to help or so the students have to sound out the words without help. All of the letters and more than 300 words are there for you to use to teach your students the letter-sounds and how to use them to read.
Other than the sequencer, we provide rapid letter reading animations, which randomly selects 5 letters and places them in random order after you click play. It helps children's eyes, brain, and speech muscles grow used to seeing a new letter and making the sound of it quickly, without the burden of blending to say a word.
The student will sound out the letters 5 times, each time in a different order, so they will get good practice saying those letter-sounds rapidly. It's perfect for kids who know a lot of letter-sounds but aren't good at using them to sound out words.
Example sentences in our worksheets are made with 4 factors: (1) if the helping words are similar to the target word, (2) if the helping words are known, (3) if the helping words should be reviewed (4) and if a child is likely to be able to imagine what the sentence describes. The worksheets don't use words like 'ship' in examples when the child is learning to read 'it' or 'at', unlike many worksheets. The example below has the words 'I', 'in', 'the', 'sun', 'up', and 'it' in practice sentences for 'run', which are all learned before 'run'.
We have 2 levels of worksheets for 500 words in English. Each one is classified as a Spell With Sounds word or a Spell With Names word to recommend how a child should learn to write each word. Practicing this with our worksheets is excellent preparation for using Spell With Sounds and Spell With Names when the students attempt to write unknown words and sentences.
The User's Guide explains all that you will need to know to get the kids using letter-by-letter reading with high accuracy, including a order to learn the words, a pronunciation guide for each word, and whether a word is a Spell With Sounds word or a Spell With Names word.
